I'm having a bit of a hard time rating this product, I've only used it on cold winter nights as the battery I got from AAA didn't work that morning . Of course, my Acura is 16 years old, so it's no surprise that the basic battery specs for it when it was new don't work now. I ended up getting the best battery I could find, the XSPower, and that fixed the problem. I have no idea if this charger will work well as a long term "handheld charger" for one season or three. I don't know if it will work with an old dead battery, the AAA one was less than a year old, just a bit weak for an old car. I'm trying to decide whether to use a solar panel backup battery or an emergency backup. I know this charger worked well to revive it and prevent it from dying when my fairly new car battery died during COVID when I was only using the car once or twice a week. Maybe that's flimsy praise, but that's why I bought this and the only benefit I've had.
