Review on 🌊 Seachem Hypersorb 100ml: Advanced Water Filtration Solution for Optimal Purity by Kelly Thomas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This Purigen predecessor is still up to date with apparently faster results.

I accidentally bought HyperSorb before I thoroughly researched how it compares to Seachem Purigen. Well, the end result didn't disappoint. I honestly don't feel any difference between them. Of course, Seachem would have us believe that Purigen is far more efficient at doing the same; This encourages consumers to buy it instead of HyperSorb. I have no problem with that. I have used the 100ml bag in 3 different tanks: 29L, 20XH and 55 gallon. Within 2-3 days each aquarium became so clean and clear that I was tempted to drink the water (NO, I never did and never will). Besides, maybe I am; but compared to Purigen, HyperSorb improves water clarity slightly faster and appears to last longer before requiring regeneration. The cost isn't very different, so you end up with a choice between the two. Personally, I will continue to buy Purigen unless Hypersorb is discontinued and the price drops significantly.

Pros
  • INSTRUCTIONS: For use in a bag filter such as Seachem's The Bag. Each 250 ml will purify up to 300 L (75 US gal). Rinse before use. Exhaustion is indicated by a distinct color change of the granules from yellow to dark brown.
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen
