Review on πŸƒ Merrell Women's Antora GTX: The Ultimate Running Shoe for Women by Teresa Diers

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Won't buy it again for running

UPDATE: They were just thrown in the trash after 6 months of moderate use (sidewalks and sidewalks about 10 miles a week and worn to work for a month) After once they started, holes appeared in the mesh, and then the waterproof lining wore out. Mesh sneakers are inherently less durable, I get that. Although they are expensive. So I think I'm done with the idea of lightweight waterproof trail runners. I don't think it's just Merrell; Other brands also have durability issues. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The Revain purchase somehow got sent back without reaching me, so I bought them directly from Merrell and got the wide version. The fit is fine, width 10 for my 9.5ft and I am happy with their fit with one exception; No matter how I lace my shoes, I can't stop the heel from slipping completely. They are the right size and I've tried the tip so I don't know what to do other than live with it. As a result, I had no blisters or problems. They don't have the arch support I'm used to in Merrell shoes. They have some, but maybe it's because the sole is so soft that I got stuck in it and had to add an insole to support the arch. Come to think of it, this is probably my heel slipping issue as the new insole takes up volume in the shoe. The impregnation works perfectly. I bought them to hike spring meadows that are wet from the snowmelt near my house and they work well for that. I had a constant problem getting used to the sheer amount of stuff underfoot. The first few times I twisted my ankles left and right every time I stepped on a rock or piece of bark. I have to be careful when walking. So these aren't the shoes that do it all for me, but they will work well.

Pros
  • for running
Cons
  • not as thick as other options
