Great filter, removes everything from the water and doesn't require any noticeable additional suction. However, a replacement filter costs $30 and you need to replace it every 3 months. I'd say it's worth it if you have particularly bad tap water that you wouldn't otherwise drink. My main concern is that without the clear plastic cover, the lid has serious leakage issues. Sometimes when screwing, the threads do not match, the cap becomes crooked and a ton flows from it. Even with this cap it will spill everywhere unless the spout is FULLY down. I switched to the clear top lid after opening my backpack for the third time and finding it full of water. At least when the transparent lid is closed, it forces the spout to fall. It would be nice if the other lid closed so you could tell when it's closed.
