I originally bought this to try and get cat hair off of wood grain tile floors. It was basically like a regular broom and didn't give magical results in my opinion. It collects hair in a bunch and you spend as much time on it as with a regular broom. However, I saw that some people use the broom on the carpets, so I decided to do the same in our bedroom. I just vacuumed yesterday but when I used it to sweep the carpets it was amazing how big a ball of yarn it picked up. This justifies the purchase. So it depends on what you want to do with this broom whether you should buy it or not.
