Review on Brother P-touch PT-90: Your Personal Labeler for Organized Efficiency by Sean Burnett

Revainrating 2 out of 5

only suitable for occasional use

This labeler is not the best, but it is not that expensive either and it pretty much does what it says on the tin. Packs with labels for this are also quite inexpensive. My main complaint is that the display is not backlit, making it very difficult for me to read the screen. Too much direct light or too dark and you can't read what you type. My eyes aren't that good so I wish I understood that before I bought it. For icons you have to go to the icon menu and scroll through the icons until you find the one you want, just like my last label printer. But unlike my last device, on this device, every time you want to enter a number, you have to press the number lock button to enter your numbers, and then press the number lock button again to go back to the letters. I prefer the machine to have number buttons, again I wasn't aware of this when I ordered these. I just made the mistake of assuming my old one had real number keys. Also, I was planning to buy an AC adapter to plug it into the wall and after receiving it, I found that it doesn't support an AC adapter, only battery power, and even new, fresh batteries don't last very long. I killed 4 new Duracell AAA batteries in one day by printing 35-40 stickers in lowercase and only 2-3 words each. If someone only prints a label or two from time to time, everything is fine. If you love me and use it for business a few times a week I suggest spending more now for a better machine with more options like plugs, backlit display and adjustable label edges and save money on batteries and label rolls later. .
