For five years we had problems (with neighbors) because of our barking dog. We've tried everything: different collars through which she barks, scolds her, and expensive training. Nothing worked. I just bought this bark collar and set the setting to "3" with ring, vibration and shock to start with. The collar rang loudly and vibrated, startling her and she stopped barking immediately. I disabled the shock because she doesn't need it. I positioned the collar so that it sits close to her ear and not under her neck. I heard the bell only rang twice since she wore the collar. She immediately understands what it is for and has completely stopped barking in the street. To be nice to her I only wear it when she is in the yard. When she's at home, riding in the car and going for walks, I let it and let her bark at squirrels to her heart's content - dogs have to bark. I can't believe how lucky I am to have found this bark collar. If you have a barker buy this collar. It's easy to turn on and off, just adjust the level to what you think is best for your dog, and easy to charge (I plug it into a computer). I hate electroshocks and am so thankful I don't have to use them. She hates that bell, and that's enough for her - a former professional barker! She was grumpy at first (I deprived her of joy), but now she's used to behaving on the street and everyone is happy. She is a very sweet dog and loves people!
