Bought two of these for hiking. After reading all the reviews and complaints from the other manufacturers about the bad taste and smell, I was apprehensive about buying this one. I noticed that this company is talking about premium silicone, so I took a chance. It had no odor or bad taste! I was offered to pour hot water and soak for 2 hours. I did but before I did there was no smell. Which I think makes this one better. The lid has a screw top (not a snap) it's still a spout but you twist the lid to open and drink. The entire top unscrews to the wide neck to fill with liquid. You could even put chopped fruit in it. I put fruit juice in it and it was there for 3 hours before I drank it. No change in taste. Really cool. I bought gray and turquoise, both were odorless. HAVE FUN
