People who complain of a tight fit are unfamiliar with compression garment technology. Webster defines contraction as "pushing into a small compass and a certain shape, usually in the face of resistance." Compression garments are inherently tight. BY DESIGN is used for muscle support. If you want a looser fit, order one size up. The loose t-shirt may be 2 sizes larger than you usually wear. I'm 6ft 3in, 180lbs and size XL fits me perfectly. It matches the "t" for me, no pun intended.
