Review on πŸ“Έ Nikon Z5 Mirrorless Camera with FTZ Mount Adapter Bundle: The Perfect Combination for Stunning Photography by Jeff Prabhu

Not for nature photography

This camera is closed slow for nature photography. I was very happy with it paired with an adapter (too heavy!) and a Tamron 150-600 lens. The first use delivered very impressive images, mostly in full light. It's a rare opportunity to see a kingfisher hunting from a dead tree, but I had such a chance. I was about 30 meters away. I set everything up, waited and the bird jumped from its post. I shot as fast as the camera would allow. I had a series of shots with a long gap between them and so didn't capture the bird hitting the water or even stepping out of it, although the camera clicked away. 7 frames per second is very little for a new camera. The chance was missed. I returned the camera and gritted my teeth to upgrade to the double priced 6ii. Also, it seems ridiculous that an adapter is needed as it adds a lot of weight. Nikon is a bit behind.

Pros
  • VR IMAGE STABILIZER: Sharpness starts with stability, and the Z 5 has some of the best built-in image stabilization. NIKKOR Z lenses enable 5-axis VR image stabilization - up to five levels of stabilization in five directions: yaw, pitch, roll, X and Y VR, enable 3-axis VR image stabilization
Cons
  • Negative impression
