Easy to install and solve my memory problems. But creates another problem

I noticed my laptop was having memory issues so I bought this to increase the memory from 8GB to 16. Well, as soon as I installed the flash drives, I noticed that my laptop was heating up more than usual with constant fan noise. I swapped out one of those sticks for an old one and the temperature dropped 10 degrees. These sticks were compatible in speed and size, so I'm not sure why that caused this problem.
