The setup was difficult and ultimately unsuccessful.

I had a whole support email thread because I bought two of these to experiment with. The first worked for a while, and then it started to fail due to temperature. I replaced it with another one and it couldn't hold temperature for more than a nanosecond. I was disappointed but stayed with him. As it turned out, the problem was a tiny set screw (I have no idea what size it is, but I don't have that little allen wrench and I doubt many have). A set screw holds the tiny thermistor in the case (assuming if the thermistor dies you can replace it I think). That's all well and good, but the hotend doesn't come with a tool to loosen/tighten this set screw. I set it up and the setup went flawlessly. I warmed it up and let it run for a while. The temperature only changed +/- 0.3 degrees (at nylon temperature). I was impressed. The problem occurred when the carriage was moving to start printing. I wondered why the temperature started to fluctuate and eventually the print failed because the temperature wasn't maintained. I played around with it for most of the evening and almost gave up. I manually leveled the bed to operating temperature and found that the temperature was perfect until I moved the printhead to a new location. It hit me like a ton of bricks that the thermistor was wobbly. I didn't have any tools, but I did have an old slotted bit that I could sharpen. I tightened that little adjustment screw, probably MUCH over spec, and now I can print almost anything for 14 hours with almost no temperature change. The company sent me some new thermistors free of charge, but the problem isn't with the thermistor, it's with the set screw. For some stupid reason the set screw keeps coming out. I tried some 2000 degree F thread lock, torque and anything but a prayer to keep it in place. There are no dice. After a while he always runs free and is always in the middle of printing. This is a design flaw, pure and simple. I've had 3 of these and they all have the same point of failure. I requested a replacement for the defective unit, received that replacement, and began preparing it for installation on the machine. When tightening the set screw, the housing cracked. I don't recommend this hot end at all until the design changes to eliminate the set screw or offer a way to permanently install it during use.
