I liked that I could step on ice with confidence. I will use for hiking and blowing snow in the driveway. They're inexpensive and worth pennies if you need to go to the emergency room because of a slip and fall. I bought XXL, in the attached photo I have US size 12.5 insulated boots. I went on a hike and was able to walk across the ice to the river bank with great confidence. I've also skated on a pure ice lake and had no problems. My only concern is that I saw some white dents on the orange rubber. I probably maxed it out with my big feet. Another problem is that the bag they come with is a reinforced cloth bag which is not very durable and not very comfortable. So far I am satisfied and can recommend this product.
