To get the most out of the unit I recommend ordering a long coax cable with SMA connectors to mount away from the camera and closer to the front of the trailer. In my case I installed it on the underside of the trailer in front and I installed the external antenna on the mast next to the drawbar. This is how it gets into the cab of a truck with 5 signal bars. It used to have only 1 strip with only camera. I had to cut the connector off the supplied Y-cable and hard-wired it into another side marker light for power.
