I bought it to replace a failed Garmin HRM-Tri (for three years, the plastic of the battery cover went like a cobweb, began to leak moisture. Attempts to reanimate, somehow seal it did not bring a positive effect. As a result, I threw it on the shelf, although the electronics themselves are still quite alive) . Polar was five years before Garmina. I changed the belts periodically, the sensor itself is still like new. Therefore, I decided to return to the Polar sensor again. What was my disappointment when a month later he began to fail: when measuring HRV, extrasystoles began to appear. With a little movement, there is generally one continuous noise. By dialing with a multimeter, I found out that it was a matter of poor contact between the riveting and the tape on one side of the belt. The resistance when bending the tape floats, which gives noise on the graph. The belt is not under warranty! Partially, I understand this, but not in a month to break. Changed the belt to another, from the old stocks. About a couple of weeks later, the picture repeated itself. With the third, oldest belt, he did not even last a week. Here, somewhere in the reviews they already wrote that the sensor is very tightly attached to the belt. As a result, the frequent removal of the sensor from the belt loosens the contact of the riveting with the belt and problems begin. There is no such thing on the old sensor, it is removed without much effort. To solve the problem, I bought electrically conductive graphite glue and poured it into the rivets on all the belts. As a result of this repair restored all three belts! The second month of use has not revealed any more problems with the belt. True, it is worth noting that now I no longer remove the sensor from the belt from the word at all. :) This does not affect the autonomy of the sensor in any way, since it turns on only when both sides of the belt come into contact with the skin at the same time. When contact is lost, it turns itself off.
