For mounting on the ceiling you need screws. Buy them before you start installing!
SCREWS REQUIRED TO SCREW IN CEILING BRACKET. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars because I had to make a trip to the local hardware store. Overall a great fan and very easy to install. The instructions are very simple, even for those who are not very practical. There were 2 places in the manual that said to loosen 6 bolts of the motor when you actually need to loosen 8 and same for attaching the fan blades to the motor. Very quiet even when the fan is running at full speed. I would recommend buying light/fan extension cords if you mount high. Please let me know if you found this review helpful.
