I installed one on my laptop and it's been there ever since. It works great and does the job it was designed to do. For my cell phone? Well, it didn't even last a week. If you keep your phone in your pocket or purse, it may be suitable for you. I carry it in my pocket like most guys do. My guess is that body heat and moisture from sweat caused the case to just fall into my pocket. I even cleaned the surface of my phone to make sure it had a clean mounting surface. I also used one for my brother's cell phone and he had the same problem. It didn't even take 3 days.
