It seems all the reviews left were for a gas detector, not an HCHO (formaldehyde)/TVOC detector. I bought one to measure the HCHO in my house. Pros: 1. It's cheap.2. You can see the reading changing rapidly when you move or when the window is open and the wind is blowing. It's very portable. Disadvantage: 1. The manual is printed in low quality and in small letters. The instruction was not clear.2. After about 20 minutes, the readings suddenly went back to zero. (A reboot will fix this.) 3. Most importantly, the reading is too high. So the HCHO in my house is 300% above the maximum health limit, and my friends' houses are also completely above the maximum health limit when the window isn't open. My wife was planning to sell our house and at least replace all the furniture before we bought a more expensive HCHO detector and found that my house's HCHO level was only 30% of the limit according to the new detector. It may be unfair to say cheaper is always wrong, but the fact that all homes are well above the sanity line, even homes with no recent renovations or furniture (like my own) makes this very suspect.
