These amazing things. Instead of using them as railings, I used them to hang open shelves in my kitchen. (Make sure you find the bolts, or use an overhead lock). They have a slightly industrial look that doesn't look too trendy. If you don't have bolts where to land, it's possible to go through the drywall and attach them to the attic, but you'll need to find a few tiny protrusions to plug the hole. Be sure to purchase the included cord and cord cutter for $29. Using anything else will wear out the ends and you'll just get frustrated trying to put it all together. Yes, it's expensive, but I've made this design at my home and several clients' homes and everyone agrees it's worth it.
