Firstly I am very happy with these bar stools, they are exactly what I wanted but they are not for everyone. I originally had more modern reclining swivel chairs with padded backs and seats that were VERY comfortable, but my extremely energetic son constantly annoyed me by spinning stools and banging on the counter. My old bar stools couldn't support the "weight" of some of our guests and eventually the hydraulics gave out, so I went in search of a new set. So when I bought these new bar stools, I made sure they met certain criteria. I needed a bar stool that: 1) was strong and could handle a lot of weight 2) didn't adjust up and down or swivel 3) looked good 4) didn't cost too much These bar stools were perfect, they met my criteria and looked look great in my kitchen but they are as convenient as you would expect.
