I am very happy with this product. My detached garage, used for an office/man cave, is approximately 30 x 20 feet (600 square feet) with 2 windows that are approximately 2 feet wide and 4 feet high (no blinds or curtains). One window faces north and the other faces south. Approximately 18-24 inches of Green Fiber Lowes/Home Depot insulation was blown into the attic. I cut holes and blew it through the walls, at least as best I could. I use a 24,000 BTU LG Ductless Air Conditioner to heat and cool my garage. Half of the floor is covered with concrete, the other half with rubber mats. The large 18 foot garage door faces east so it gets direct sunlight from 9am to 2pm. If you stand next to the garage door without this product, you will no doubt feel radiant warmth; In fact, this side of the room always stayed a few degrees warmer. Using my infrared heat gun, the outside of the garage door measured 110 degrees when the outside temperature was 91 degrees (mid-June, day in Texas). The concrete directly under the garage door showed a temperature of 108 degrees, so the door was actually hotter than the concrete, which makes sense since it's metal. When you got back into the garage it was 105 degrees in the door but if you point to the white insulation it was 83 degrees - a difference of 22 degrees. As you can see from the photos, I removed the insulation and aimed the laser directly at the metal garage door. Prior to installation, I set my thermostat at 76 for a day and it worked non-stop (as ductless units tend to do). ) to keep the temperature at 76. After installation, I set the air conditioning to the usual 76 and noticed that the temperature dropped to 73 degrees - this event occurred 2 days in a row at the same outside temperature. Since then I've set the temp at 80 and it keeps the temp at 76. The AC fan is set to Auto and I can see that it's now constantly running at lower speed instead of high speed (prior to application). Both my wife and I can tell that this side of the garage is much cooler than before. I installed this product in 3 days. The first day I gave the garage door a thorough wash with water and Simple Green Degreaser and let it dry overnight. I had to remove the hurricane braces, which was painful but only affected one person. I didn't bother to mark the exact same holes but used self tapping screws to bring it back as close as possible to its original position. The tape rose on day 2 and was allowed to dry overnight. I have some duct tape left. If I could do it again I would use 2 strips for the vertical posts - as you can see in the photos I centered the strip where I could add 2 strips vertically. Seems solid enough, especially with the hurricane strut holding it up. As all the other reviews say, Mike is very responsive and extremely helpful. Will be buying it for my attached garage door as well as my water heater and wherever I think it might apply. The post office lost my package and admitted it, but Mike quickly sent a new one with expedited shipping. When the second one arrived, they found at the post office that the original order had been in the mail for some time...
