Review on ๐Ÿš— Dorman Air Suspension Compressor 949-099 for Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC - OE FIX by Doug Virden

20 minute plug-n-play installation - it's that easy!

I bought this to replace the original air suspension compressor on my 2005 GMC Yukon Denali. The original started making a ringing noise and the car would not level. I searched the internet for a replacement and mostly found the Arnott Air Suspension P-2204 Air Suspension Compressor which is just the compressor part of this system. I almost bought it from Revain until I read a review that mentioned Dorman 949-000. Boy am I glad I read that and bought that Dorman. It was so easy to install! Before I bought Dorman I tried to remove my existing compressor and only saw two nuts to remove but couldn't. After I bought Dorman, I found that there was a third bolt and nut in the truck frame that was accessible through a hole in the frame. I've also found that two bolts fit into the slots on my Yukon's frame and won't come loose from the supercharger frame. two bolts with a hammer loosening the seat in the grooves and the block immediately popped out. Then I had to remove the air supply hose to the compressor, which was connected to my truck with a plastic rivet. It took me about a minute to get it loose from that rivet (didn't want to break the rivet). Then I had to remove the air line that goes from the compressor to the shock absorbers. It had a small snap ring which I removed with some snap ring pliers such as: TEKTON 3578 8-in-1 Universal Snap Ring Pliers Set. Entrance on a plastic rivet. I then secured the air line to the compressor with a locking ring. Finally, I put two bolts in their slotted holes and partially tightened the nuts. I then put the nut for the bolt that is in my truck frame into a deep socket with a short extension. I then tightened the nut on the bolt with my finger to make sure I didn't twist the threads and then tightened all three nuts. After I was done, I started my Yukon and heard the supercharger run! It was a lot easier than trying to replace the supercharger with the Arnott P-2204 yourself! If you own a General Motors vehicle with air suspension, buy this plug and play replacement without hesitation!
