So I usually leave all the housework to my husband because I don't want him to yell if I make things worse. I didn't think this would solve my problem (I figured we'd have to replace the whole hose/hose), but I'm glad I tried it first. I circled the new one where the old one leaked, threw away the old one before writing this review. It also does an amazing job with a high pressure sink cleaning sprayer. So there are only 3 modes. When spraying hard, you need to hold down the button for better control. A light press on the button simply switches between full jet and shower, with each setting being retained by itself.
