I work exclusively from home and use a lot of spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel. My 14 inch laptop screen was not working for me. I bought this as a second monitor to connect to my laptop and it makes it a lot easier to see my work. I use both screens at the same time and the transition between them is pretty smooth, even though my laptop screen is significantly smaller. Now I do most of the work on a big monitor because it's much easier to see. I really like the eye saver mode, which tones down some of those lighter whites and is less straining on the eyes when working on documents late at night. However, I would not recommend this monitor for gaming. We have a gaming monitor at home, and the refresh rate on it is generally unparalleled.
