Sturdy for its size. I have to admit I haven't used a metal lathe in years and I'm totally new to working with a mini lathe so it took me a bit of scratching my head to get it working in a confined space. Nevertheless, he does his job. He seems weak, but looks can be deceiving. This is a hard little boring bar. Happy with it for the price.
