The tone generator is a square wave generator. The knob moves linearly in frequency, not logarithmically, so there's no resolution for low frequencies anyway, even though it produces sine waves. This cannot be used to test anything other than whether the speaker is working or not. Works as a polarity checker for speakers, but will also take a 9v battery and alligator clips.
