Review on Elac Discovery Streaming Integrated Ds A101 G by Justin Dorsett

Easy to use and full of features. I use these with a pair of ELAC Uni-Fi 2.0 UB52s and they work great. Connected to the TV with an optical cable. I also stream music via Spotify Connect. I wanted a compact integrated system as my first introduction to hi-fi audio and I'm happy to report that the Discovery system exceeded my expectations. I have found that when using the optical input from the TV the audio is much quieter compared to streaming. from Spotify directly to Discovery. I really have to crank up the output volume to get the same sound level. But there may be some settings I haven't found yet. Only 3 days have passed since unpacking. The Wi-Fi setup was pretty easy. I couldn't get it to connect to my 5GHz channel, only 2.4GHz. So I'm not sure if Discovery WiFi 6 is enabled? Again, this could be user error on my part. Bluetooth setup was easy too. I haven't tried pushing the system yet. I only had the volume at 45% (partly due to rental restrictions) but it drives the UB52 well. The app that comes with Discovery is pretty intuitive and acts like a full-featured remote control. Was impressed with Discovery and would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy to use system with a variety of connectivity options, yet powerful enough to drive some quality speakers.
