This lever replaced a similar cistern lever that was beginning to stick. When flushing, the old lever didn't move down, the flap stayed in the open position, and the toilet didn't fill. Boo.My toilet is a Kohler model with a flush lever on the left but at an angle. When I took out the old lever I used its curvature as a template for this new Danco lever. The brass lever is easy to bend into the desired shape for the toilet bowl. The Danco lever is made of all-metal material. The nut that secures the lever to the tank wall is reverse threaded, as are most or all toilet tank lever nuts. For those who have never worked with backflows, please note that you cannot use left-free right-tight storage. For reverse threads, turn the nut clockwise (when looking at the threaded part), LOOSEN the nut. This behavior is by design. The lever handle is designed in such a way that the angle of movement is limited to a narrow range. That way, when the lever is properly installed and tightened, you won't be able to bang your hand on the bottom of the tank when you push to flush. I expect this Danco cistern lever to last for years. Oh yeah. This Danco lever costs less than the equivalent tank flush lever at my local major home stores. Also smaller than the hardware stores in my friendly neighborhood. What's not to like?
