This is a well-made shoe that is comfortable for those who still find the wide width too narrow and whose feet swell or need thick orthotics because the shoes run much wider and lower in the toe area. I have a narrow AA foot with a narrow AAA heel and found the 2A is still much wider than it should be as the leather softens over time. 2A seems to be the standard narrowness for a 1A foot, or so I'm told. This doesn't make sense to me as the numeric designation 1A (default narrow) seems more logical and less confusing. Several reviews indicated that people should order 1/2 size larger. New Balance also recommends this on their website. I did and found it 1/2 size too long! I have now ordered 4 pairs of NB shoes and have found my normal size (8) to be perfect in length and a lot better in width 2A than these and I don't think they would have been any better if I size them up 8 would have ordered. Good shoes for me in the long run. They seem really wider and lower in the toe box than the other 3 models I ordered. Another thing I would like to point out is that as they have no cushioning and arch support to speak of, buy a different insole. . I recommend dr. Scholl's running shoe. The NB insoles, cut to size, fit very well in their shoes and offer both heel and instep cup support, just like New Balance insoles and they are really comfortable. They also go well with the original Chuck Taylor B-ball sneakers. Even though I'm a woman, I love my Chucks the most. As a suppinator (rolling off to the outside of the foot versus pronation, rolling to the inside of the foot), I find both WW928WT - my favorite - and WW411WT2 - my second favorite - to be the best for suppinators. Both models offer a roll bar and both have enough toe room in both width and depth, but are not extreme. The 928 is a health walker and the 411 is a comfortable walker with a very comfortable insole and both felt really comfortable the first time you put them on with no real break-in period. So take a look when you're rolling on your feet outside. If you're a pronator, I recommend taking a look at the NB WW813WT. They also have an arch BUT it's a different type of arch that runs front to back - on the inside of the foot - where the pronators probably need it the most. But note that they are also the only style of the 4 I bought that are on the small side and have a flatter (less deep) toe. So order 1/2 size larger and maybe 1 size larger for any orthotics you wear. It's well made, but NB seems to have greatly simplified the toe box in this style, I think for a slimmer look. who really knows The 577s were made in the USA. The other 3 models were made in Vietnam. They were all well made and I didn't notice any inferior work between the 4 pairs I bought. Happy New Year everyone and Merry Christmas!0
