Review on 📦 Flirc Raspberry Pi 4 Case (Silver): A Stylish and Durable Protective Shell for Your Device by Josh Allred

Before installing this case I used a plastic case with 3 heatsinks. In the photo on the left, the temperature chart for most of the day with a plastic case. Then comes the decline and the right side of the photo is with this new Flirc case most of the day. The temperature difference is 20-30 degrees Fahrenheit less for the Flirc case. Installation was easy, I just removed the previously installed CPU heatsink. I left the RAM and USB heatsinks in place. I installed the thermal pad on the processor after previously cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab. Place the Pi on the case as instructed. Put the bottom on and lightly tighten the 4 screws. I've been struggling with overheating and throttling on this Pi 4 for weeks and fried 2 test Pi 3B+'s trying to build a temperature controlled fan system for the Pi 4 before trying this case. I'm glad I finally got this and can save someone else's time and headache if you have pi 4 and temperature issues save your time and money and get this case. About $15 it cost the same as I paid for the fan I was going to use, it's quieter and doesn't require any circuitry or wiring to keep it mostly quiet. The Flirc case is passively cooled so there is no noise and it works great. The only downside to this case, which should be pretty obvious, is that the outside of the case (because it's a heatsink) feels very warm to the touch. I would recommend using gloves or letting your Pi 4B cool down for a few minutes after turning it off before attempting to touch it. It probably won't burn you, but prolonged contact is certainly uncomfortable.
