Review on Eyoyo 2160X1440 Lightweight Raspberry Compatible Portable Monitor with Blue Light Filter, Built-In Speakers, Wall Mountable, EM12-2K by Jexclusive Schofstall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Small size, high level of detail, better with additions

I had a portable monitor that served as a second screen for my desktop setup, but changing cases meant I couldn't use the other stand I had, so I looked for a monitor with a built-in stand. I've had Eyoyo in the past so the fact that they had so few reviews didn't scare me, but I have faith in Revain's return policy. :) Most portable monitors have stands this size. disappointing. I don't think I've seen anything that's 1080p, so when I saw that this one was 1440p I jumped at it. It's small, but I didn't want it to take up a lot of desk space and work well with my main 1440p monitor. Pros: The screen quality is actually very good. It's not perfect, and it's a bit blue-green by default, so you'll need to calibrate it for better results. This monitor uses full size HDMI. I really don't like it when portable monitors use mini or micro connectors. It also has VGA (which none of my other monitors have), so it's useful when testing on older hardware. Contains built-in speakers. Powered by DC jack, not USB. This makes it better suited as a permanently configurable monitor. A high resolution. 2160 x 1440 is probably about as high as you could want for a screen this small. The 15:10 aspect ratio makes it suitable for websites and documents. The build quality is quite good, it's made of metal. It has a built-in stand and can use a VESA mount. I don't want them to be long term. Once it arrives, you won't be able to use it as a truly portable monitor as it depends on a DC adapter. Luckily you can buy this cable and it works great over USB: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HQ91HHV/ The 15:10 aspect ratio is poor for most widescreen media. For 4:3 content and websites it's basically the same as a 13.5" monitor, but for 16:9 content like movies it's like an 11.5" screen. It has fairly thick bezels that negate the screen size savings. Large hump at the back for electronics. If you're looking for an extra monitor that you'll mostly leave in one place and only move occasionally, this is a great option, especially for the price. Good performance and high resolution. But if you frequently change jobs, I'd go for something that can rely on USB-C for power and video.
