The new car came equipped with Dunlop SP Sport FastResponse tires, which are too harsh and noisy for me. After getting used to them for a while, I started looking for softer rubber. When compared to the Dunlop SP Sport FastResponse, the ContiPremiumContact 5 is the polar opposite. I found the rubber to be excessively supple, resulting in noticeable corner roll. Low-speed maneuvering requires a noticeable amount of steering wheel twisting due to the huge turning angles. However, this can be mitigated with a combination of high directional stability and short-range braking to reduce roll before the turn. When driving on smooth road, the car moves effortlessly with no noise at all, but when moving slowly, such as in a parking lot or a traffic jam, the steering seems quite heavy and slow to respond. I haven't settled on anything definitive yet. Cons: roll in corners, sluggish steering; pros: comfort, silence, softness, good acceleration/braking/directional stability. I haven't had enough time to test durability, but I do my best to remain cautious behind the wheel. Perhaps I should try to find a compromise. Three Stars from Michelin?
