I originally bought this product for my father who has diabetes and he and his doctor love it as a dietary supplement. I recently decided to try it myself and I was trying to find a meal replacement powder that will help me with my bump. I really like the taste of Quest Vanilla Shake. The ingredients are limited and useful enough, but I wouldn't recommend it as a meal replacement. Maybe a small side dish with the meal? Maybe like a pre-workout drink so you don't get hungry during the activity? If I take this on an empty stomach I'll starve to the point of passing out within 1 hour at most. It's supposed to contain slow-breaking micellar casein, but that didn't work for me. I also find it a little watery, the mix calls for 8 ounces of water per scoop/serving. It's just very runny in consistency, not creamy, and it contains carrageenan, which is a thickening agent. Given the short ingredients list and how easy it is to pronounce the ingredients I still give it 4 stars and would buy it again, maybe I just need to peruse the recommended scoops to get what I need.
