Review on Sony FE 85Mm 1 4 Lens by Jade Allen

This is a great lens and I'm sure it gets more use than my other lenses on my camera, although it's not a perfect lens. The image quality produced by this lens is similar to Rokinon 85mmF1.4 and Nikon 85mF1.4G. Maybe at F1.4 it's sharper and more contrast. However, this lens still lags behind my Zeiss 135mm F1.8ZA, which produces more "pop” photos, in my opinion, thanks to the higher micro-contrast and Zeiss-specialized color. I was happy with the Rokinon 85mmF1.4. This lens doesn't make me happier or make me say WOW. Thanks to the autofocus function, it's just a little more comfortable in some cases. + Sony FE85mmF1.4 focuses faster than Ronikon (of course). + It also focuses faster and more accurately than the Zeiss 135mmF1.8ZA (with LAE4). It also makes less noise when focusing than the Zeiss 135mm. + It's not as quiet and quiet as the Nikon 85mm F1.4G and has about the same focusing speed. + The confirmation tone from the A7 is louder than the noise this lens makes Focus. But yes, focus noise is definitely there. Only a deaf photographer does not hear this and says that the lens is silent when focusing. When composing a photo, I pay more attention to composition, focus point, light direction, etc. than intentionally listening/detecting lens noise. . Also, the focus noise isn't at the level that really distracts or bothers me. When I'm shooting at a wedding, especially a church, I can always focus the lens manually and don't miss a thing. The image quality it produces really made me want to leave this lens! The focus noise isn't strong enough to convince me to give up this piece of art. Sony's marketing department didn't do a good job because the product didn't satisfy many buyers due to focus noise, especially when they paid $1,800 for a lens. I believe if there is another similar version with a better motor, quiet focus, and a few hundred dollars more, people will pay for it, not this noisy product. Sony, please focus on product quality first. I hope the reputation of this lens is more positive, but that doesn't seem to be the case. For photographers interested in the 85mm F1.4, I recommend buying this lens, relaxing and shooting. Forgive the focus noise, you'll be happier looking at photos taken with this lens. Much luck!
