Budget kings IF you know what you're doing.

Until you get into your tricks, German maestros etc, this column is hard to beat. CURRENTLY! With this limitation. You need a tweeter and a better mid/tweeter. So my system. Toyota Solara Convertible 2008 I have a set of Kenwood XP6902c 6x9 front door / 2.5" in-dash midrange drivers for $230. Pioneer d9705 5-channel amplifier. Midrange drivers have their own 2 channels. Pyramid rear and parallel 2 ohms. 12 " Alpine Type X in The woofers have a Pioneer Active Network crossover of 1.5 kHz at 18 dB. The system never came to life and wowed me until I installed those pyramid woofers in the rear door panels. Now if you mainly listen to rap/modern pop music you probably won't see where this woofer shines, but if you listen to real music, rock/bluegrass/country/christian music etc, that 60-200hz bass helps a lot. I haven't heard this type of bass from door speakers since the original mb quarts through '09. Bass that either doesn't sound good in the trunk or subwoofers really aren't designed to play at those high frequencies. I admit it's my 3rd pair. My first two had an 08 accent, which I believe has a ground fault that caused all of the rear speakers in the car to freeze. But these speakers convinced me so much that I had to try them again in my Solara convertible. I'm so glad I did. I recommend strengthening them. I have 70w and they do a great job with it. But I also recommend them as 3-way or rear speakers. If you could cross them at 1-2kHz it would be perfection. But they are rated up to 3.6kHz, which works great with many large tweeters. Low frequencies will not be lower than 62 Hz. 80Hz best. These are the first woofers I can tell anyone about, try them before you buy a subwoofer. Fantastic for the money. With an active crossover and tweeter, this is a budget setup. The bass is better than my $230 Kenwood 6x9.
