Connectivity and performance are terrible. It's literally impossible to use this camera as a standalone camera. My wife and I both agree that if you're forced to use an external device as a controller for the camera, it should be Bluetooth, not Wi-Fi. The instructions are bad and the password in the book is wrong. We managed to connect to the camera, but the functionality leaves a lot to be desired. What is good about a waterproof camera that needs to be controlled with a cellular device. Even if all that was added was a record button on the camera itself, which is better. Another problem is that when I'm in a place with Wi-Fi, I want my cell phone to connect to Wi-Fi and not the camera. This affects the functionality of my phone. Having Wi-Fi pass-through in an app is not a desirable way to maintain cellular device functionality. Sharing my Wi-Fi information through the camera and the SJCAM app seems like a small network security threat that we don't want to address.
