It's crazy how many reviews are blamed on a "useless clip" and that's why they give this product a negative review. Of course, it may not work for your pot/fryer. But folks, you can easily reconfigure the flexible metal in this clamp to suit your needs with a range of pliers. It took me about 2 minutes to adjust to get the thermometer to sit the way I wanted and I'm just feeling a little comfortable. The actual thermometer seems to work well and is long enough to fry with bubbles. Summary. Purchase this item if you are willing to spend 2 minutes bending/shaping the clip in your situation with minimal effort.
