We use this on one of our cats and it's a lifesaver (our other cats will agree). He learned that what he heard meant he would be in for a shock unless he changed his behavior. I only got as far as setting 4 on the shock because that's how effective it is (I started on the lowest setting and increased it until it responded). However, the vibration function does little for this. There are only a few downsides. First, the battery doesn't last more than a day. Another thing is that he's a bit fat for a cat. We have 2 of these, so one is always with us while the other loads.
