Bright, dimmable LEDs. Since they are not designed for outdoor use, they are quite flexible. Arrived neatly packaged in a small box with instructions for downloading the smartphone app. The Bluetooth feature is pretty easy to set up and the app is easy to use too. I bought this for a DnD project but thought it might work better behind the TV to set the mood for games and movies once I cut it down to size. ! Yes, the instructions say where to attach to shorten the light strip. The sound activation feature works pretty well too, especially when there's a subwoofer nearby.
