I've been trying to get my van cooler to cool better for a long time and have replaced almost everything but the box. This fan greatly improved 4-5 degrees after installing in the top vent. When it hit 90-100, my device just wasn't working well and I was concerned about food safety when traveling. My Kountry Star fridge has never cooled as well as previous campers and I found the problem was poor upward airflow. There are a few videos online showing the installation, but the last fan now has a built-in thermal switch, making it one less step. For best results, this fan should be top mounted and draw hot air out! I removed my fridge to improve ventilation and flow by installing a curved pole near the roof chimney. It also made installing the fan easier as I used a screwdriver to open a slot in the roof waterproofing and screwed the fan in from the inside and I didn't have to remove the roof vent. Some silicone was used to ensure it stayed in place. I assume this can also be installed by cutting the screen at the vent and then mounting from the top, but most people remove the vent, install the fan, apply the appropriate sealant, reinstall the vent and seat then re-insert the heads of the mounting screws. I didn't want to risk damaging the roof panels or breaking the factory seal as there are other options. The best way to ensure this fan improves your situation is to remove the cover from the top vent and install a small fan on it. Suck in air from above and check again after waiting at least 12 hours. An external temperature probe or thermometer should be placed in a cup of water on the center shelf for the best reading. You can also unplug the thermistor wire from the circuit board or remove the thermistor from the fins and leave it hanging to ensure your device is cooling at peak performance. Make sure you test each change step by step and wait 10-12 hours between tests. I would recommend using online resources to check other options first and get your device working as best as possible first, but this fan will help in any situation. I think a roof fan should be part of every installation, but we all know how things are these days. Thanks for reading DS
