I think it's a lovely rug but it fails the curiosity test. I do not recommend 3 months + despite the brand. My 7 month old can easily pull the pieces out and put them in his mouth. This is fine until you get small tiny pieces, which are very small and pose a choking hazard. We had to remove all of the eyes so our little one wouldn't choke on one of them. The eyes also had very small eyes which we first removed when she was 5 and 6 months old. Now dull animals are eyeless
