I haven't had a chance to test how well this works on an airline, but it's great for getting our pets on the plane. It's a bit of a struggle to fit one of these into smaller pet carriers (pets have weird vet radar), but this one's big and sturdy enough that we can fit their favorite beds, love toys, and playthings inside, and there's still plenty of room for them . cozy. It came partially assembled and was very easy to put together. Having a wheeled porter is useful as I can't lift as much as I used to; My pets are smaller but I'm sure a medium sized dog could use that too. If I could add one more thing to that, it would be a way to open the top to drop a pet from above. Dogs will get through the front with some fuss, but dragging a cat in is a nightmare. My old stretcher opened both at the front and at the top, which was very convenient.
