I purchased this item as I am just getting started with power carving. I use a Dremel 300 with a flex shaft assembly. You plug the dremel/rotary into the foot pedal and the foot pedal into an outlet, set the dremel/rotary to the maximum setting and you're done. It's better than constantly reaching for it to turn off your Dremel. Works seamlessly with a variable speed Dremel/rotary tool; however, the Dremel tool/rotary tool must be set to the maximum value. Do not use it at anything other than the maximum setting, otherwise damage to the rotating instrument and/or the foot pedal may result. It has rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from sliding on the floor, as well as mounting holes if you want to attach it more firmly. An excellent tool when using a flexible shaft rotary tool.
