Happy Beginner for Slacklines

As someone who has absolutely no experience with slacklines I am very happy with this kit. We have a spot in the corner of our backyard that is quite open and my wife and I were trying to figure out what to do with it. Our homeowners association has pretty strict rules about backyard heights and shed sizes, so those options were pretty limited. HOA is good and all, but sometimes I feel like they overstep their purpose; but that's a rant for another site. Anyhow, we decided that it would be interesting for the growing kids (and for us) to set up a slackline zone. Our trees are only really good for temporary installations, so we plan to anchor on one side and use the installed tree on the other. Up to this point we've tweaked it several times to test it and see how bad we are at it. Setting up the device is quite easy. Again, as I mentioned, I'm completely new to this so the guide that came with it was good and explained how to keep the line straight and not twisted and it's nice that you can easily shorten the setup for smaller distances. The main ratchet is easy to use and large enough to keep the line taut (note: many videos say everyone has different tension preferences, but I've found that the tighter the tension the better). for beginners like me). The kit includes everything you need for basic setup if you already have secured posts. We're only setting up the practice line once as it doesn't work well with the trees in our yard, but it looks like it'll be very useful once we've made our choices. I especially like the extra part that makes it possible not to have to hold onto the training rope directly. I haven't figured out the best way to do this yet, but I'm getting there. I think my biggest difficulty is that I set it up for my child's size, so it didn't really support an adult's size. I wish my tree had a quick fit, but I digress. I use tree protectors because they are easy enough to just velcro on and I've seen what long term use can do to a tree without them. While others may not find it important, I will continue to use them and am glad they were included. All I wanted was a good rifle. Once I get to that point, I need to choose one that will work with my anchor. I'm really not going to blame this set for not having one, but you should be aware that you may need to pick up some extra items depending on your specific situation. Again, if you have two trees or secure poles, that's enough to get you up and down on your own.
