A reliable, inexpensive and effective solution to a broken Honda key.

An excellent replacement projectile, especially for such a price. This is the perfect replacement for this type of problem where the metal key shoulder and plastic socket break in the original Honda key. You simply snap the entire metal shaft out of an old Honda OEM case and fit it into that case using thin washers (if needed). Insert the remote control into the seat, then securely fasten it with 4 torx screws (supplied with the tool). not intended to be easily replaced if the metal key piece (shank and shoulder) becomes detached from the plastic rear housing or if the plastic seat breaks while the metal piece is still attached. Even replacement OEM models cannot handle this problem as the metal shaft arm is designed to attach to the back of the case. You can try snapping it off the original case and then epoxy it to the new replacement, but you will need to remove the new blank metal bar from the new OEM case. It will most likely get weaker again a few weeks after turning the ignition on. Pros: • Easy to assemble (comes with screws and tools) - there is a review by someone else where they posted photos of the steps. • Looks tough and durable. currently durable. • Quick fix for a broken genuine Honda key (assembly only takes a few minutes). • Inexpensive - much cheaper than cutting a new laser key or trying to use an original equipment manufacturer's replacement housing and fit it to MacGyver. • Color Options: It's nice to get a color to easily distinguish your key from others in the home while this is flat Not a big issue but something that could be improved • The case is larger (longer) than the OEM , but that is understandable considering the parts it must contain and the engineering to ensure the screws can securely close the case and ensure the metal key shank does not move and does not weaken, when the key is turned over time. Note: Even though I mentioned a few tiny cons, it's all the same reliable solution and worth 5 stars, especially compared to my previous attempts to fix my old OEM key. I have a Honda Pilot Key from 2009.
