One of the valves was damaged allowing it to be fully threaded into the port. Revain sent me a new one, but by then I found that the shower handle trim kit, also from American Standard, was damaged. The trim kit and this valve were purchased separately but should work together. I ended up buying a new Moen valved shower handle trim kit from Lowes, which is what I was supposed to do first. American Standard sells poorly made junk that you won't find until you try to install it.
