Choice of Connections: Fast and easy installation without adaptors reducing leak points; Available connections include Universal (male thread/female sweat), PEX Crimp, PEX Cold expansion, CPVC, and Stub outs. Cast Brass Valve Body: Durable. Ideal material for prolonged contact with water. Flat Back: Allows valve to be mounted flush against cross brace for easy and solid installation. Test Cap: Allows valve body to be tested and flushed without the presence of the valve cartridge; Can be tested using test cap with air (200 psi) or water (300 psi). Stainless Steel Retaining Ring with Flats: Secures test cap/ cartridge in place and eliminates need for screws; Flats make it simple to loosen ring for quick, easy insertion/removal of test cap/cartridge. Cartridge not included

I am a home renovation company and have purchased countless shower valves and trim kits. This valve does not contain a cartridge. Neter graduated. It was hard to find and hopefully I'll get it soon (the cartridge was ordered from AmericanStandard in a month). I have never seen a cartridgeless valve.

Corrosion at 90 degree bend.

I sent back the first one I received and received another one which also has corrosion at the 90 degree angle. Now I'm debating whether to take care of the return or install behind the shower wall and hope it doesn't fail. I tried calling American Standard customer service and after waiting on the line I was unable to speak to anyone.

Don't waste your money, item arrived damaged

One of the valves was damaged allowing it to be fully threaded into the port. Revain sent me a new one, but by then I found that the shower handle trim kit, also from American Standard, was damaged. The trim kit and this valve were purchased separately but should work together. I ended up buying a new Moen valved shower handle trim kit from Lowes, which is what I was supposed to do first. American Standard sells poorly made junk that you won't find until you try to install it.

This rule applies to crimping Pex, not cold stretching Pex. Excellent quality product

Revain's description says this version of RU107ESS is for PEX cold expansion, which is incorrect - US standard website ru107ess is for PEX crimp system. Excellent quality product - used with a set TU385500.002 (pipe and valve). The handle of the trim kit feels like solid brass and when you turn the valve it's very smooth. I started using American Standard in most of my projects - it seems to be one of the few manufacturers that still make products that convey a sense of quality. PS If you areโ€ฆ
