This is the first tool I've discovered and I honestly wonder how I managed without it. Card scrapers are a secret weapon for cleaning boards that can greatly reduce the amount of sanding required. I would say that with proper sharpening you can get a finish equivalent to sanding with 220-300 grit. The hardest part is learning how to properly sharpen the blade. The process is almost voodoo and everyone has a very different method. But it's worth knowing how to do it. Watch all the videos on You Tube and DO NOT skip proper stone grinding and wet grinding. The most important steps and the opportunity to gain a good advantage.
