Review on Seachem 116065306 Reef Strontium 600Gram by Kristie Jones

This is not a gluconate complex as the description says. I ordered this expecting it to be strontium gluconate but the package I received only lists the ingredients as strontium chloride. I need the gluconate form for several reasons: it's easily absorbed by coral and coralline algae, it provides an organic source of energy for beneficial bacteria, and it doesn't contain excess chloride to upset the ionic balance of my system. I know, I know. I've heard it before. An excess of organic matter contributes to the formation of unpleasant algae. blah blah. My system has a very low organic load and even benefits from this slight increase by feeding the denitrifying bacteria. Now I have to deal with excess chloride also coming from additional testing and optimizing/increasing the number of water changes. One advantage, however, is that strontium chloride provides almost three times more strontium than strontium gluconate by weight. But it also means I have to adjust my dosage accordingly or risk overdosing on strontium if I use the same dosage as the old gluconate product. Overall not a bad product, just not what was ordered. The inaccuracy of the Revain is the reason for the lowering of the star, otherwise I was always satisfied with the SeaChem.
