Review on 🔧 Dorman 604-201 HVAC Air Door Actuator - Black by William Bell

The drive comes on a tray without instructions. I should probably dock two stars, but I'm only docking one. At first I thought I ordered the wrong part, but I checked again. To make it work in my old file explorer I had to remove the tray. If you look closely, you'll see that the tray is designed to tear off. It has four cotter pins that hold the tray in place. I used needle nose pliers to compress the pins and slide them back through the tray. It wasn't too difficult, but I did it slowly and easily, working on opposite sides. After the tray is removed, the part will match the OEM part. Now installing it was another hassle (you can find instructions on YouTube). Getting to the screw holes and aligning the drive arm is PITA's main job. During installation I overtightened a screw and split a plastic ring, but luckily it's still holding up well. Now that I've installed and tested it, I'd probably recommend it to more expensive versions from other manufacturers.
